Wal-Mart Trucking Jobs

Walmart has a so-so rep for retail jobs. However the trucking jobs are great and have been for some time. The first year may be tough but after that it is very rewarding

Not only is Wal-Mart one of the world’s largest companies and employers but it also owns its own fleet of trucks and is a private carrier. Wal-Mart has high standards for trucking safety and also has great benefits for its employers. Here’s a look at what Wal-Mart trucking jobs have and how a job with the company can work for you if you are in the truck driving business.

For an Wal-Mart trucking jobs you must have a Class A Commercial Driver’s License for at least three months. This license should have no DUI incidents or felonies from the past five years and must not have been involved in more than three moving violations over the past three years or more than two accidents in the last two years. Drug or violence related crimes will result in a disqualification for employment. This is all done in order to meet with the company’s safety requirements.

For any Wal-Mart trucking jobs you must have had a total of twelve months of driving experience in the last three years. This is needed because the business prefers employees who have more experience.

There are many benefits people with Wal-Mart trucking jobs can get. Senior drivers can choose to work for six days and then take six days off, or six days of work and three off and five-four, four-four and seven-seven schedule combinations.

A full time driver at Wal-Mart will get paid very well over the year. An average driver will get $45,000 in a year. A senior driver can get around $65,000 a year. All drivers with Wal-Mart trucking jobs will be paid for delay times and mileage and will receive bonuses at the end of the year based on safety.

A part-time driver with the company will be paid around sixty cents per mile. Sleeper Berth, Mileage and Trailer Hook-up Pay are all included. When working for two to three days in a week a part-time driver with Wal-Mart can get $30,000 a year on average.

The placement of a truck driver for all Wal-Mart trucking jobs is permanent. You can get full benefits after sixty days too. Your 401(k) savings plan will also start when you get your job.

Wal-Mart trucking jobs use some of the best equipment in the trucking business. Right now the business uses about a hundred hybrid vehicles, and the number is expected to increase in the next few years. With this improvement in fuel efficiency the business is expected to save about half a billion dollars a year in 2020.

People with Wal-Mart trucking jobs also help to give back to their communities through the Volunteerism Always Pay Program. Truck Buddy International, which pairs children with Wal-Mart truckers to help them learn more about math and geography, is especially popular. This correspondence plan generally lasts a year and is a great way to give back to those you serve.

Truckers also receive recognition through the business with different honors given to their employees. These include Innovative Carrier of the Year, Produce Carrier of the Year and Express Carrier of the Year awards.

Walmart is very progressive when it comes to trucking. That is because they are a midwest company that knows that ground shipping is crucial to everyday life
